Is Salisbury out of a recession?
Published on Wednesday, July 16th 2014 by Aaron Whiffin
Our previous article “Is Salisbury in a recession?” in October 2013 focussed on how companies should be responsive to change in order to stay ahead of their competitors during difficult times.
This article was very well received and we had some great feedback, as well as some differing opinions such as an article in the Salisbury Journal. This article suggested that there is no recession, and the problem with Salisbury, and many other towns, is that people are expecting products and services for far less that they are worth. This is a point that we certainly agree with and have written our own articles about (including “Websites are like cars”).
In either case, towards the end of 2013 and into 2014, we have noticed a dramatic increase in spending and buyer confidence, not just with our own web design business, but with those belonging to our friends and business connections.
As web designers in Salisbury we consider ourselves lucky as we often get to discuss our clients’ business plans, and we’re pleased to announce that it certainly isn’t all doom and gloom, and many local businesses are thriving!
It seems to us that we’re at the tail end of the recession and things are looking up.
We certainly hope that this is the case, and would like to wish everyone every success in a very profitable 2014.
